What is Experience Mex-ECO?

Experience MexECO offers a range of exciting volunteer projects in collaboration with Mexican community groups and governmentally supervised conservation groups. You can make a difference to the lives of local children and to the conservation work being carried out on the Pacific coast of Mexico, whilst immersing yourself in the vibrant and friendly atmosphere for which Mexico is famous. If you are interested in becoming involved in ecologically sustainable Volunteer Placements and Community Projects in Mexico, as a Gap Year, a Career Break, an Academic Project or a Short Break then look no further.

Experience Mex-ECO staff:

Experience Mex-ECO was founded and is managed by British Marine Biologist, Daniel Patman and Zoologist, Ruth Hazlewood, who are based on site in the Mex-ECO office in Melaque, Mexico. All Experience Mex-ECO volunteer coordinators speak fluent English and Spanish and have extensive experience in working with community groups and volunteers, offering an excellent 24 hour support system for each of our volunteers.

Location:

The Experience Mex-ECO office is based in the small beachside town of Melaque, in an area known as the Costalegre in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Melaque lies in the northern section of ‘Bahía de Navidad’ (Navidad Bay), which is also home to the towns of Villa Obregon, Barra de Navidad and the Grand Bay Resort. Our projects are all based within the Costalegre area; please see ‘Projects’ page for specific project locations.

‘Experience Mex-ECO Tours S.A. de C.V.’ is a legally registered tour operator in Mexico which supports local charities through its activities. Experience Mex-ECO volunteer projects are operated by the same company.
